Was Booker set in Canada?

I just saw Ep10 "Cementhead" where Booker's company buys a hockey team. There's a scene of their first home game, and the players line up while "O' Canada" plays.

Which is fine if the home team is in Canada. But if the home team is US, wouldn't it be the Star Spangled Banner?

I've never seen both played at a game before....

The show was filmed in Vancouver, BC, Canada but takes place in an unnamed US city, presumably Seattle even though they never say it.

When there is an American team playing a Canadian team, they always play both anthems, at least in Canada they do.

Filmed in Vancouver, Canada

The hockey scenes were filmed in a couple of arenas in the area, mainly the Agridome, next to the Pacific Coliseum.

The scene where the crowd does the "Bloodworth" chant was filmed with free volunteers thru an ad in the local paper. I only know this, because I was 1 of the 500 or so people that were there for it.

They had us move around the arena to give the impression of a full house.

filmed in Vancouver, set in an unspecified U.S. city just like 21 Jump Street

reply

Yeah, I get that it was FILMED in Canada, I'm just more curious as to what city it was supposed to portray.

21 Jump Street was supposed to take place in the Pac NW. And Booker was supposed to be in the same city,(1st episode, where Penhall is visiting Booker at his bouncer job), but while the series was supposed to be set in the US, the Canada thing pops up all the time. So I wasn't sure.

reply

Yes, most of the series (just like 21 Jump Street) has been shot in Vancouver, though I believe they are never particular about country or even city. I assume they wanted to be neutral to attract the whole of North America, though in some episodes US flags were to be seen.
