How can anyone possible think that this deserves a 1? I can understand not liking it, but the lowest I've ever given something is a 4, and that's including the Twilight films. The fact that 5% of users have given Blackadder Goe Forth a 1 rating is ridiculous to say the least.

I doubt many (if any) people who watched this actually think it deserves a 1. The problem is that most people 'exaggerate' their votes when they feel the current average rating isn't deserved. So if somebody felt this deserves a 6 instead of 9, they might rate it 1 to try to bring the average closer to 6. This, incidentally, is why I don't take take these sorts of rating systems or related lists (IMDb top 250) too seriously.

I wouldn't be too mindful of those 1 ratings, they occur on every single title and are wholly exaggerated.

I think people who have given it a '1' haven't actually watched it at all ... but have rated it a '1' because possibly they don't like the actors in it. I think they're possibly being petty.

It is given out in rapid fire sequence, and the references can be very obscure, requiring a person who is very literate to be able to understand them.

The issue isn't people giving ones or tens... The issue is people who ONLY give ones or tens.
