Was there really a laugh track when it came out? If there was is it the same one now - Hyenas on speed?

It's the same laugh track I remember from my VHS copies.

"What do you mean, it's crap? There's eight bodies at the end and he gets to shag his mum!"

Really? I found it excruciating this time.

Although the laugh track was there from the beginning, I felt that Dave had increased it's volume for some reason.
