Birds Ending after two series on ITV ?

I only ask as on here it says 1989-2015, which seems odd as it only came back after a 17 year gap (transitioning from BBC One to ITV).

Perhaps that's what IMDB does whenever it gets to a new year on certain subjects.

I hope I am proved wrong by the end of the January/February 2015 series run.

It always has a date that's current. So, should the show return next year, it will be updated to 2016. Don't start worrying until you hear that the show is cancelled. But I doubt it will be as ratings are fairly high, regardless of the fact that it is not as good as before.

Series 3 has been confirmed for next year.

Great news about series 3. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another xmas special. I really wish Allun Lewis would come back and play Darryl Stubbs though, he seems to have disappeared from TV, perhaps through his own choice. Other factors are perhaps work drys up for men of a certain age. He'd be great as a villain in EastEnders (his brother Hywel Bennett was in it for a short spell a decade or so ago ). Anyway, it's great to have Birds of A Feather back on tv again. Whilst I look forward to ITV's series 3 of it I currently live off the Drama channel repeats, it's obviously popular on there, as well as THE BILL, BIRDS has been repeated in full series at least 4 times in the couple of years since 'Drama' appeared on Freeview.

... And who knew that Dorien Green had had a child after all these years she's been bending Shall & Trace's ear about her conquests, affairs and constant competition with her other so called friends, you'd think she'd've mentioned it, but as it would've been in the 50`s I guessed the shame played a part in holding it back .... till now. Isn't she a granny now as well?

More guest stars as well please ITV ....

Oh that's wonderful news!

They could always bring Darryl back, he's a crim, they always fake their deaths etc.

It is usual for a TV series that is still active to be shown on IMDb with a start date and an open end date. So, just as an example Coronation Street is shown on IMDb as (1960-). So, technically IMDb should display Birds of a Feather as (1989-).

However, it is precisely because Birds of a Feather ended and was then revived at a later date that the show's title page shows the dates (1989-2016)- because the title page had an end year added to it when the show ceased. It is now simpler to just keep updating the year.

Ah, I am with you. I was just confused by the date, but now you've explained why I now see your point. I am also enjoying the continuous BBC re-runs on Drama channel. But I also like seeing the older Sharon, Tracey & Dorien escapades.

A Christmas special has been confirmed for this year - I just hope it's not as dire as Birds on a Plane!
