Why has it completely disappeared off the face of the earth?

It used to be...EVERYWHERE....and now...it’s NOWHERE. What gives?

Umm it was cancelled like 17 years ago. This is like asking where is Star Trek TNG it used to be everywhere.

Baywatch has it's own channel on Pluto tv. 24/7. For how long is anyones guess though.

The whole series was remastered in HD but Baywatch Hawaii and Nights is still missing. It's on Hulu, Amazon Prime, and the Pulto TV channel.

reply

I've seen the new HD episodes on several European channels in the last year.

And how was it? I haven´t seen it since I was a kid, I remember it dying in popularity once Pamela Anderson left.

reply

Lol, that was more than 2 years ago (in the summer, I think). It was fun to see again (I would put the show on while doing homework), although I also stopped when Pamela left. I believe they also cropped the image to make it widescreen, which I'm not a fan of.

It was never a good show and doesn’t really stand the rest of time?

reply

It's good, cheesy fun...and great nostalgia for a better time...(at least, a better time in MY life, Ha ha).

It's funny how (some) shows that once were huge are still omnipresent (like Friends and Seinfeld)....while others are a bit more tucked away (like Cheers, Baywatch, Miami Vice, NYPD Blue, etc...).

I have a theory about Baywatch. I think that show in particular caught the attention of other countries worldwide and made people around the world either....love our way of life....or resent it. The ones who resented it probably resented how women were depicted as empowered and free to bare their bodies...have fun as they see fit....be strong, professional...and equals with their male counterparts.

I mean...Baywatch was in what, over 90 countries?? It definitely made an impact, and created perceptions.

reply

I agree, I wish the community hadn't died. It's a fun series whatever to discuss about.

reply

It's still all over the place. Last I knew it was on Netflix and Amazon Prime. It even has its own channel on Pluto TV, which is a pretty popular platform.

reply

There's a free streaming service called Pluto on Roku. it has dozens of channels. The channels seems to be entirely dedicated to certain genres or shows. There's a Star Trek, American Gladiator, and many more channels. Even Baywatch. Just discovered it a week or so ago and am LOVING it. I forgot what a wonderfully bad show it is. The melodrama is fantastic.

reply

It's on Comedy Central UK, but I think the problem with the series was that it was made during a time when porn wasn't easily accessible on the internet.

reply

It's on H & I channel for two hours a day. 5pm to 7pm central time.

reply

No its not. McGyver and Walker Texas Ranger are in those time slots
