Did Baywatch jump the shark when Alexandra Paul left?

I mean, Baywatch was technically, was never really "good" but it was entertaining in its own way. While Pamela Anderson was still on the show when Paul left, you can argue that she was already phoning it in and you can tell that she clearly didn't want to be on the show anymore. It was also around this time that Gena Lee Nolin's character went from being an anti-heroine to becoming more accepted and nicer.

i know what you mean pamela wasn't really engaed on the show after paul left. and then they had a parade of babes which was too much. it was overkill. they had no less than 6 main star girls on the show at one time which is way too many. this started around '97.

agreed..

by the time the awful Hawaii crap came on, she show's spirit was long lost

BAYWATCH NIGHTS WAS THE BEST!

I thought it jumped the shark in Shark Derby and Shawn Weatherly left the show.

I'd say that it happened with the first episode of Season 7 called "Shark Fever". By that time the stories became far too ridiculous to be enjoyable and there were too many characters that came and left.

I'm rediscovering the show on Pluto. I was a regular watcher for several seasons, but totally lost track of it when Carmen Elektra, Traci Bingham, and all those other nobodies were on the show. From what I can tell during this re-watch, it was always pretty melodramatic; which is part of it's appeal.

As I mentioned in my initial comment, I recently rediscovered this show. After watching it pretty much all day yesterday and a few more episodes this morning...my man, was this show ever not bonkers? I've seen an episode with Summer being followed by a ghost who thinks she's an old lover. i watched Mitch "scuba dive" in the sand and rescue Stephanie and Summer from a Joker knockoff. I watch Mitch stop thugs, gangs, and do a bunch of other shit that has nothing to do with being a lifeguard.

It seems like Pamela missed her in a way that was beyond the platonic (if you believe what Pamela said about herself shagging people on the set).

I recall seeing episodes with sharks in them however which episode was a shark jumped? And if a shark was jumped, the shark I'm sure could have easily caught up with the swimmer
