I recently purchased this for a great-aunt who has always wanted a copy as she so enjoyed seeing it the first time. However, she claims that this is not the version that she saw originally. I have been unable to locate any other release of the movie, so would appreciate any info that anyone can offer.

I haven't seen Bangkok Hilton, but the premise seems the same. The movie that she probably say is called Brokedown Palace, which Claire Daines and was made in 1989. What I don't get is why don't either one of these movies show up in the other's movie connections. The plots seem almost the same.
