I just came here to to post about it!
I watched it on release day as my brother had pre-ordered it. It's a brilliant transfer. It also includes an extra scene at the beginning which I don't think has ever been available (in the UK at least).
The film is obviously terrible, but it's a great release and there are extras (interviews with Claudio Fragasso and Beatrice Ring) so I definitely recommend picking it up.
I haven't laughed so much while watching a film for a while..!
Violence is Italian art and Italian art is beautiful.
Well if your like me and watched this movie on vipco dvd for years you wil be pleasntlt surprised with the blu ray transfer. 88 films like arrow UK do amazing restorations and its well worth the 8 or 9 quid on Amazon.
By the way I think this film is brilliant and my favourite of the trilogy by far
Yeah I'd seen the vipco version before and it's almost like watching a totally different film.
Haha wow! You prefer this to Zombie Flesh-Eaters? Fair enough I guess!

It's a guilty pleasure of mine like many other vipco clasics i started collecting ten years ago. I saw this one before the other two and sure the first one was technically a better acted directed and had a better story but I love this for its over the top cheese and gore
Okay, that's cool. I saw this one a while back and really didnt like it (after having seen the first one, which really scared me). But after hearing the story behind the film and the major production problems there were, it made me view it in a slightly different light. Also the fact that the blu-ray quality looks amazing certainly helped.
I think the best praise I can give this one is it's definitely never boring!
What did you think of the next one (Flesh-Eaters 3 / Zombi 4)?

Wasn't great as far as I remember I think it was set in the jungle where the zombies had bad make up and could run. Another vipco hangover movie my favourite probably being the zombie dead I really hope it comes to blu ray eventually.
shareWhachwd on blue ray last night god the transfer is good way better than this cheese deserves lol
I hope 88 films do a blue ray of conquest a rather underrated Conan rip off with a very unique style to it
But yea zombie 4 aka zombie flesh eaters 3 if thay release that one on blu ray I may get it if that don't ask to much for it but zombie 5 I think I would have to ask for them to pay me to watch that garbage lol
Not that zombi 4 is high art or anything but wow it makes 5 look like Ben hur

Actually The Zombie Dead is getting a blu ray release from 88 films (under the title of Burial Ground). It is an entertaining film. The zombies look pretty unique and the dwarf kid and his mother? Disturbing stuff.
My brother has actually met Claudio Fragasso, the writer of Zombi 3 and director of Zombi 4. His English isn't brilliant but he sounds like a really nice man. Zombi 4 is a step down from this one though for sure!
