Is this classified as "farce" or "theater of the absurd"?

I think it stamps itself as tongue in cheek and satire from the second Bruce Dern catapults a hubcap as a deadly projectile with his cane into a bad guy.

From there, it mixes what looks to be a serious dead pan style of satire, though, never really giving in to zaniness, but with all sorts of scenes that look like one of a group of writers said "Hey, lets put this in".

It also looks very impromptu, especially the ending. Was it all planned this way? If not, would they admit it? Probably not.
