Anyone know the title of Winnie's book?

At the end of the movie, it says that Winnie's book was published. Does anyone know the title and where I could find it?

Winnie: My Life in an Institution

Does anyone know how to obtain a copy of this movie?

I wish. I have it on VHS somewhere, but would love to have it on dvd. I've read the book also which is even more emotional, but expensive to buy anywhere.

Hello. The book is called, "Winnie, My Life in an Institution". It is written by Jamie Pastor Bolnick from compiled letters and interviews with Winifred Sprockett. I managed to find a copy in my library and was so taken with it, I managed to buy a copy of this book through the internet (try ABEbooks at http://www.abebooks.com/). Like the movie, it is a very moving story of a mentally challenged woman who just wanted "motherly love".

This is such a great movie. I watch it everytime it comes on which was this past week. I love it to death. I taped it when it first came on and still have it. It is such a sad uplifting movie. makes me cry everytime I watch it. Meridith does an excellent job at portraying Winnie.

It's on right now on WE.

You are in luck: there is a brand new, revised and expanded, edition of _Winnie: My Life in the Institution_ that is now available on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Winnie-Institution-Jamie-Pastor-Bolnick/dp/0979586127/) and BarnesAndNoble.com (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/books/e/9780979586125/?itm=1&USRI=winnie+my+life+in+the+institution). In addition to the complete text and introductory materials from the first edition, it sports several new features:

- the cover is a color facsimile of Winnie's original notebook
- the page starting each chapter contains a complete page from the notebook in Winnie's own hand
- there are new forewords and prefaces bringing the story up to date
- last, but not least, there are excerpts from interviews with the two social workers who knew Winnie the best -- including the one known in the book as Eva Handleman

Enjoy!

I got to read the book at last.
While it was an interesting (and sometimes heartbreaking) read, and I know it was written partially by a mentally impaired person (Winnie had a good bit of help putting it in a book form), but it was quite different than expected. The narrative was choppy, and jumped around a lot.
I was a little sad to find that Thomas Carr was not the uber-sweet character he was in the film. In the book, he comes off as odd, and a little creepy.

But in all, it was a triumphant read. And I'm glad I got to read it at last.
