So playing Paddie-cake is the he Toon equivalent to sex?

Yeah, I realize this is something that's probably already been talked about but I just had to ask.

That, and "baking a carrot cake."

"What's the title?"
"The Day After Yesterday."
"Oh...you mean today?"

I think the joke is supposed to be the ridiculousness of cartoons. They get off to stupid stuff like playing Patty Cake.

Patty Cake does sound kind of naughty once you think about it.

Black Sabbath + Judas Priest + Iron Maiden + Metallica + Pantera + My Little Pony = LIFE

I'm not sure if it was meant to be an equivalent to sex, just something whe sne's being faithful, Jessica does only with Roger.

Saying it was a special, non-sexual thing Jessica would only do with Roger... makes sense. Nothing more to it! But, considering how stunned Eddie was by what he saw, Patty Cake could very well be the way Toons do, you know, their thing. But nah, I have to agree with what the previous posters said.

Either way, it’s hard not to see this as some sort of sex joke. Funny.

reply

The way I understood it was that the audience are meant to believe that "playing patty cake" was a slang term for having sex, or for having an affair. Like; "My wife was playing patty cake with another guy."

The joke being, when they used it in this sense they were being literal.
