they need to make a REAL adaptation

of the book, with decent director decent writer and decent cast.

I very much agree

tehy keep making Watcher movies and none of them fit the book. why doesn't Dean Koontz do something?

reply

becuse he likes the money............................ cant say that i blame him

reply

I just read the book a couple of weeks ago and I agree. Big budget, quality actors, quality producer/director and you'd have a huge hit.

Any ideas for the director and cast?

It depends on the contract he signed. If it is included the right to use his characters in any sequel, there's not much he can do. I think I remember reading in his biography that was the case.

They could also go the miniseries route or a weekly television series route.

how about an ix-nay on the miniseries route, unless its an hbo or showtime miniseries where they don't have to censor the language so damn much. but i do agree - a better adaptation would be awesome, preferably theatrical, and it could easily be split up into two movies, like HP7 was, fit more of the story into it. i would think someone like matt damon could make a good travis - hes a good enough actor he can pull it off, and he's done quite a bit of physical acting, the bourne movies, etc etc. he is also about the right age, cuz if i remember right, travis was 36 when the book starts. with today's cgi, they could do wonders with this movie - the outsider, fully fleshed out on screen via cgi, maybe someone like Spielberg or someone else similar producing or directing..tell me that wouldn't be awesome

step up or shut up!!!

Actually I would agree with the miniseries route, it's one of those books that really should be adapted in it's entirety.
