I LOL'D at the poster who thought Gary Oldman would've been great


Are you kidding? This is Ed Harris's role,the one role the he was literally born to play, he made this film as much as the director, who must be pretty brilliant- I can see why he was looked at for Fear and Loathing.
This film has moments of sheer brilliance, Ed Harris playing a part in most of them. The clips of Reagan talking about interventions in Central America role during the credits I think point the finger at the fact there may have actually been more freedom in Hollywood at this time- especially VS the role up to Iraq and Afghanistan,where it's seems that 9/11 and the news media made it politically untenable

Hollywood was always pretty free to bash politicians, as long as they're to the right. I don't think that was very groundbreaking there.
