DVD ?

Why is it not on DVD ? I want to see this movie on DVD. Please could anyone find enough money to make a DVD version of this film ?

A UK DVD release exist, you can find it on www.amazon.co.uk

It's not much interesting though : full screen 4/3 scale, image and sound not so good (could it be a VHS rip ?) and of course no bonus at all.

The widely available UK DVD (the cover is pictured on the main imdb page for the film) absolutely looks like a VHS rip... and a pretty bad one at that. However, the film has also had a German DVD release which is MUCH better. The cover of the German disc features beautiful poster art of Frankie and Dee Dee in front of a starry background with the aliens, the dog, 1459 and lots of other things flying around behind them. This disc features the trailer, an alternate opening credits sequence (the only difference is is "Let's Dance Tonight" is subtitled under the opening logo), a scene that they claim was removed from the UK version (though it actually wasn't) and they've excised "When the Rain Begins to Fall" and stuck it in the special features as a bonus music video. Although it's full screen and there's some light scratches and other flaws in the print, the picture quality is amazingly crisp and clear. The default is German audio but there's a higher quality English audio track. All in all, the German disc is THE version to track down... which is thoroughly frustrating for those of us in America who are fans of the film. There's a torrent of it available at Cinemageddon.org.
