So little discussion

This is a funny, charming and cruel film that offers no effective closure to the problems and chaos it throw up. The critic quoted on my DVD describes it as sly Fench humour. It is that indeed.

A very cruel and effective way of examining class, religion and the effects of parenting on children. It's not easy to like either family - Quesnoys or Gresoilles - but neither is it possible to dislike or dismiss them either.

One of my favourite lines is from a little girl who says her brothers won't play with her because they're sniffing glue!! If you've seen the film, hopefully you'll understand how hilarious this line is.
