Anyone prefer the original/alternate ending?

Recently got the Blu Ray of this, and it includes the original ending as an extra with an interview with the F/X guy who worked on it (who admits it was the first time he'd done anything on a major production), which I'd never seen or was aware of. Honestly, I think I prefer the original ending with it's large, demonic creature over the weird, clunky demon-dog monster it ending up with.
