Horror/sci-fi movies involving angels and demons always popular

By its very subject matter nature, movies about angels and demons are always horror often with science fiction elements. Being a believer in God and his angels, I always find such movies highly entertaining.

DARK ANGEL
PROPHECY (all the movie sequels)
THE UNHOLY

You can't have a horror movie about God's angels without the fallen angels. Belief in God, whether you be Jewish, Christian, or Moslem, is a PACKAGE deal. God created angels and that's one major central religious belief which includes the mythos that many rebelled out of hubris or malfeasance and were cast out of Heaven. Afterwards these fallen angels completed their transmutation into hideous and evil demons and devils always up to no good. We don't realize fully that God didn't create demons and devils. He created angels of which a large number of their own free will chose the path of evil and destruction, becoming demons and devils. Thus, the creations of God introduced evil, death, suffering, and imperfection into God's heretofore perfect world.

In THE UNHOLY, Father Michael (Ben Cross) is a compassionate, conscientious, and strong Roman Catholic priest. But he harbors a significant heresy. He doesn't believe in the devil. He believes in man-made evil and bad things happen to good people. I don't know how he managed to become much less remain a Roman Catholic priest. Each year at Easter Mass, all attending Roman Catholics must verbally renounce Satan, Prince of Darkness, and all his works, and all his empty promises, in congregation. This part of Father Michael's personal religious belief system might be indicative of the director's own religious beliefs. But it makes for an excellent plot device whereby an unbelieving Roman Catholic priest is forced to accept the reality of supernatural evil when it openly manifests itself to him. Many Christians believe that refusal to believe in the existence of the devil plays into his hands and actually weakens the nonbeliever into becoming more vulnerable.
