Greatest Moment?

The movie is great, but there are 2 moments simply unbeatable.

1. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For performed with a gospel choir. F***ing great!!! The spirit of this performance is incredible. Worth see the movie just for these few minutes.
2. The colour segment. About 50' of black/white material. The screen fades. "Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, Arizona." The screen slowly fills with red light, the audience is... audible, the song starts... Jordan Cronenweth is the undiscovered hero of this movie, his camera work is achingly beautiful. (Nothing against the b/w photography though.)

What are your opinions on this?

CHeers to all U2 fans. Bless ya.

I just got chills reading your description of the beginning of WTSHNN.
I have seen R & H countless times and that moment never fails to make me weep.
I cannot wait until next year's tour.

I really like When Love Comes to Town where it starts as the practice before the concert with Bono reading the verses in between to B.B. King and then it changes to the actual performance that night and then at the end drum beat we're back to the practice before the show. Neat editing.

3. Bono's rant during SBS. It's as if everything he's felt for the years since the first recording of 'Sunday' was released spills out and over that day, exploding into a very memorable speech.

807, your list was precisely what I was thinking, minus SBS.

I love when Bono holds Adam Clayton during "Bad" and
The speech during "Sunday Bloody Sunday" (f*u*c*k the revolution. They don't talk about the glory of killing for the revolution. !!No more¡¡) Powerful words, he knows what he is talking about.

Wow three years old. My favorite moments:

1) "Running to Stand Still" Breathtaking.
2) "With or Without You" Wow.
3) "Where the Streets Have No Name" Inspiring.
4) "MLK" Makes me cry.
5) Bono's rant. Made me join Amnesty International.

"You fine, foxy lady."

My favorite moment has to be when they are at Graceland and they ask a lady (don't know who she was) if Larry can get a photo on Elvis' bike..... She hesitates but then Bono asks her again and puts his arm around her as if to say pleeeease? and she gives in! Lol Bono turning on the charm to get what he wants! ;-) This made me laugh! Pretty sure he still does that from time to time! ;-)

Now lemme tell you somethin'. I've had enough of Irish Americans who haven't been back to their country in twenty or thirty years come up to me and talk about the resistence, the revolution back home. And the glory of the revolution, and the glory of dyin' for the revolution. *beep* the revolution! They don't talk about the glory of killing for the revolution. What's the glory in takin' a man from his bed and gunnin' him down in front of his wife and his children? Where's the glory in that? Where's the glory in bombing a Rememberance Day parade of old-aged pensioners, their medals taken out and polished up for the day. Where's the glory in that? To leave them dyin', or crippled for life, or dead, under the rubble of a revolution that the majority of the people of my country don't want. Sing no more!

This is the song Charles Manson stole from the Beatles. We're stealin' it back.(opening of 'Helter Skelter' )

The live performances are all amazing. Great North America.Great Country, really.

Don't believe in riches, but you should see where I live

So many great moments, but I always laugh at Larry commenting on wishing Elvis 'hadn't been buried in the back garden'

So many great moments. I have to agree with the color switch at WTSHNN. It never fails to get my legs moving and head bobbing, even after nearly 25 years...damn, did I just say that? I just watched it tonight, and they look so young! Since I'm about the same age as Bono, it made me feel REALLY old!

It still gives me chills when Bono runs out to the edge of the stage during WTSHNN and launches into his "oooooh" riff. The spotlight silhouettes his face in profile, the camera pans around behind him, and you see this sea of cheering humanity. It just fits perfectly.

I saw this when it came out. And when Bono came strolling out on the stage like he owned it in the cowboy hat, jacket and boots, I was instantly jealous and wished I could pull that off.

While I like the whole documentary, for me it really starts when Larry is standing at the grave of Elvis, and you hear the haunting beginning notes of Bad playing over the scene. From that point on, this goes from being a documentary to pure gold.
