Such an adorable movie

The first time i've heard about this movie was when my dad went to the thrift shop and bought me the 25th Century Fox version of My Neighbor Totoro and when I saw it I thought it was really cute and the two little girls in the film were so darling and really made the film shine. This film is such a wonderful film that teaches young children about moving and dealing with a parent with a serious illness but what's surprising is that the voice of Mei belongs to Cheryl Chase from Rugrats and Cheryl does a great job well. Why Disney decided to make a new English dubbed version of My Neighbor Totoro is beyond me? When I bought My Neighbor Totoro on DVD later on I found it shocking that the Fanning sisters do the voices of the sisters and that Wings star Tim Daly does the father's voice very good and it was good to see Pat Carroll provide a voice in the film and I thought she had retired after she appeared in Disney's The Little Mermaid. Bluegrass singer Sonya Issacs provides the English songs and she sings them so cute too. If you have to choose between the 20th Century Fox version and the Disney version choose the Disney version of My Neighbor Totoro because it's much cuter but either way it's a great movie to watch

I watched it yesterday for the first time in many years. It’s certainly charming, Totoro and his friends are delightful (although they don’t appear all that much) and the cat bus is a treat... but overall I was a little disappointed. Not much actually happens in the film, and the human characters are mostly irritating. It’s good, but with a plot it could have been one of Ghibli’s best. 6/10

I love this movie also. I recently watched it again for the first in a long time. One of those films that can be watched again and again. Kinda make you miss being a kid getting to scream and run around all the time for no reason. That story is so strong and yet so simple. Almost every store in a Chinatown I've ever been to sells Totoro merchandise, real great this one movie is still so successful.
