What became of the female officer?

Just curious about what became of the female officer (Teresa Turko) who was the partner of the killed officer. Did she remain a police officer? Is she still a police officer? Why didn't she appear in the movie? etc, etc.
I get the feeling that she was persecuted within the Dallas PD after the shooting, but would like to know more.

In an article written by Errol Morris for the New York Times this year, he sheds some light on a few of your questions:
"I also talked at length to Teresa Turko herself, but was never able to interview her on film. She had been consigned to a desk job, filing documents, and was not particularly anxious to revisit the past. The murder of her partner and the Internal Affairs investigation that followed had destroyed her career."

reply

She deserves that and more. Should be dishonorably discharged from the force.

reply

Absolutely.

Typical female cop from what I've encountered. Probably a feminist who thought she could 'hang with the boys' until it came to crunch time. My uncle worked 35 years on NYPD's beat and said his biggest fear was working with a female partner.

Women are inherently less competent than men?

One of my co-workers when we moved to San Antonio in the early 80's was Officer Turko's stepfather. Recall discussing the case with him when the movie came out. As best I recall him telling about her, she remained with DPD and rose through the ranks.

Typical sexist douche from what I've encountered. Probably a sadistic retard who thought he could 'impress the boys' until it came to crunch time. My aunt worked 35 years as a police officer and her biggest fear was working with a misogynistic, sexist moron that would be nervous and moronic enough to lose faith in their female partner, preferring prejudice over a healthy relationship with someone who can potentially save their life as a fellow police officer and partner.

I hope the next female cop you encounter cracks you over the head with her nightstick, maybe it will knock some sense into you.

Good one glockjaw. Female officers have been known to be better peace keepers than male officers.

One thing, a female officer tries to deescalate hostile situations where as some of the boys clubs obese testosterone rampaging male officers just want to make sure everyone is scared *beep* of them. Thus making hostile situations instantly violent.

Everyone female officer I've encountered has been more level headed than the male ones who think they have something to prove.

Of course, the one in this doc should have had her career ruined. Although, it would have been nice to hear what she had to say. Who knows, maybe she was bullied by other cops so badly that she had to lie on the stand.

reply

Ah yes, fighting sexism with sexism. Brilliant.

Slogutis:

Why should she have had her career ruined. More than likely (having just seen the film) she was bullied into changing her testimony, which is really kind of messed up. I mean, it wasn't her fault her partner was killed---it apparently happened so fast and so unexpectedly, she was probably in shock when it went down. But,how Adams pretty much got thrown under the bus was all kinds of fckd up---especially since the real perp went out and committed more crimes, plus another murder, after that---which is even more messed up.

Because she did not follow procedure & she lied to internal affairs.

You are a misogynist piece of *beep*

She was still with Dallas PD as of 2008. Looks like she became a Detective and fingerprint examiner.
