"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass."

I love that movie and I loved Rowdy Roddy Piper in it. I'm glad John Carpenter got him. I can't picture anyone else in that role. My favorite part is when Piper goes into the bank. They've been saying they're going to remake They Live. I can never see them outdoing the original.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Okay, that scene has to be my favorite in the movie - the fighting scene is 2nd because it is so epic.

I have always thought that line was cringe worthy cheesy. However, I love this movie.

Yeah, it seems forced. It doesn't come naturally like, say, John McClane saying Yippie Ki Yay *beep*

Richard Linklater used a variation of this in his movie Dazed and Confused at the party at the tower.
Nicky Katt character says, "I am here to drink beer and kick ass ...looks like I am out of beer."

Then there's Duke's own take on it in Duke Nukem 3D: "It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of gum."

A good but is at the end when the transmitters been destroyed. Humans can now see "them". Cut to a couple making love but one of them aren't human.

That scene, and that line are definitely classics!
