Is this DVD closed captioned or subtitled?

Is anyone able to determine whether this DVD is closed captioned or subtitled?

reply

As far as I can tell from amazon, the DVD has one english audio track and no captioning or subtitles.

(I don't own it but have seen it - the film is in english, BTW)

I haven't seen TESTIMONY but as a fan of the Sherlock Holmes character I was wondering how he was involved in the plot.

Then you shouldn't ask this in a thread about the captioning of the DVD.

The DVD, by the way, has no subtitles, and the picture is of very shoddy quality.

Hmmm?

I'm watching the DVD as we speak and as far as I can tell there are no subtitles, which is unfortunate because the dialogue is at times inaudible or at the very least hard to understand.

The picture quality is grainy but I don't know whether that's from poor DVD remastering or if the original was intended to be that way.

Other than that, the movie is a masterpiece and strongly recommended if you are at all interested in Shostakovitch' life or music.
