Who was Micheal's father?

Did anybody get the impression that Wyatt was Micheal's father?

reply

I expected her to say that. I was hoping Wyatt would ask for a DNA test. They could find out the resluslts on Maury Povich's grandfather's radio show.

"I'd buy that for a dollar!!"

reply

Might be easier if they waited about 40 years until there WAS a DNA test.

Before that there were just blood tests that could tell whether the maternal and paternal blood types could produce the blood type of the offspring. Basically, they couldn't tell sh** back then.

Very handy for us men, incidentally.

reply

Yes, I got the impression that Wyatt Earp was Michael's father, but his mother didn't want Wyatt to know. However, she sort of hinted at it! This is a fun movie and Garner and Willis were great together.

reply

Yes I did.

Sometimes the best plot points in westerns are the ones only hinted at. I still feel this was a western.

reply

In glad I wasn't the only one who thought this! And yes I think Wyatt was Michael's father. Lord knows he was lucky what's his name wasn't he was ahole and I bet him and his sister secretly slept together!

reply

We were clearly to assume that Wyatt was actually the father. There was so much unspoken between the mother and James Garner. Also, notice the sister-like resemblance between the actress who played the mother and Julie Andrews, Blake Edwards real life wife.
