Thanks for the recommendation. I have not yet seen it, but looked it up because of my love of the music of Georges Delerue.
I can't say I liked "Love Story" (assuming you mean the 1970 Ryan O'Neal & Ali McGraw vehicle). I found it a bit forced. But I liked the 1940 "Love Story" featuring the magnificent Hubert Bath music. Here is my list - I note with interest that 4 of them involve time travel:
Somewhere in Time [1982, Christopher Reeve; time travel)
A Very Long Engagement (2004)
Rapture (1968, Patricia Gozzi; perfect score by Delerue)
Interlude (also 1968, Oscar Werner; & another brilliant Delerue score)
Starman (1984, Karen Allen at her most appealing; an amazing departure for Carpenter)
Kate & Leopold (2001, Meg Ryan, Hugh Jackman; time travel)
The Lake House (2006, Sandra Bullock; time travel of a sort)
The Terminator (1982, see below; time travel)
Elvira Madigan (1967, Pia Degermark)
Romeo & Juliet (1968, Zefirelli version).
I include Terminator for its poignant subplot, with many echoes of "Somewhere in Time"... particularly that amazing moment when the origin of, and thinking at the time of, the pivotal photo are revealed... I still mist up at that superb point in the plot. I never thought a Swarzenegger movie could be moving, but then this was an early work by Jim Cameron.
