Loved This Movie

I cannot help gushing about this movie. I saw it when I was 18, watched it all the way through, re-wound it and watched it again. In the 15 years since, I watch it whenever I'm feeling like a good emotional journey. The plot, characters, cinematography, musical score, acting, everything is at the top of it's game. It's got everything: family, friendship, love, loss, addiction, redemption, loyalty, tradition, grief...I could go on and on.

I'm surprised it didn't get a lot of recognition given it's strengths but I'm glad I found it when I did and glad it's been an intricate part of my life since.

I agree lesleef, I adore this movie. It is a geat story of lost friends, family, love and remembrance. Good for the soul!

I totally agree. Great story and living in the Philadelphia suburbs doesn't hurt to see all of the landmarks. Especially the Vet. Still miss it.

i remember coming home one night and it was on a movie channel, i think i was only 16 at the time and watched it because there was baseball being played.... i watched the movie and loved it.

this is such a good movie - the story stays with you forever. i love it.

Depends if you have had enough life experiences or understanding and relating to the movie with yourself.

I bought the DVD=says it all.

totally agree- one of my faves of all time-
very nostalgic.....I find as my years move on, I love this movie even more.
Movies have many purposes & making you reflect about life should be one of them, & Stealing Home hits the mark.
Beautiful soundtrack too! have both CD & DVD.
Now...only if they can onlycome out with a proper Widescreen Edition!

Yeah this is one of those movies that not a lot of people know about. It isn't my typical type of movie either, but I had watched this with my mom when I was in my teens and it's always lingered in my brain as being memorable.

I gotta add this to my collection.

For some odd reason this movie just popped into my mind - I haven't seen it for years, but LOVE IT!
