Please don't hate me, but I think I like the song at the end

I loved how MSTK3 made fun of it "You know it is stastically prove that 98% of white guys can sing like this" "Some day love will find you!", on and on.

But I kinda liked the "Edge of a dream" song, am I a dork? Or please tell me someone else found it a little catchy.

"You're drunk!"
"You're sexy!"

reply

hey i'm not complaining about your thoughts about the song.

reply

"Edge of a Dream" by Steve McClintock. Kind of catchy.

reply

The song was great. Does anybody know if there is a full version of the song outt there?

reply

I kind of like the song in Club Scum from "Hobgoblins". "Pig Licker/Liquor".

I call it "S h i t Kicker".

Steve Mcclintock sang that song:

He's the musical bane of many no-budget, long forgotten 1980s flicks that run late night on cable.
The Fontanelles did the music in Hobgoblins, appearing as themselves. They remind me of a lesser version of the Sic F-cks, who appeared as themselves in 1982's Alone in the Dark.

Rub the mercedes for good luck.

I thought it was a good song too. And here's his website, BTW! (I think...)

Ha! That certainly is his website, as it features one of his songs used in the atrocious Deadly Prey.

I shot off an e-mail to Mr. McLintock, and here was his response:

Thanks for the EMAIL....it still cracks me up that people find this song through SPACE MUTINY....I realize it is one of the most terrible movies we ever did...but what fun it was laughing...
Anyway...the music was good..
It will be out soon for a single song download...tell your friends.

reply

Wow, that's terrific. I dig the song as well - thanks a bunch for asking him about it. I'm glad he finds the whole thing funny.

Personally, I'd love to email random people involved in the making of Space Mutiny for the purpose of compiling a great big retrospective account of it. Just like people study the making of Manos: The Hands of Fate. I'm sure there are great stories to be told!!!

reply

Sadly several of the cast and crew of Manos committed suicide, so that particular movie prolly isn't the best to try and get more info on.

Actually there's a number of self-proclaimed Manos buffs dedicated to researching the film. EW had a story about the phenomenon a few years back.

reply

He still doesn't have the song up for download.

Thanks for being so BRAVE! I wrote and sang it....and the SONG is good. The movie was a classic C movie! I scored about 20 of them in the late 80's and early 90's....you know...making a living.
But I always really liked the song.
Again thanks for stepping out...lol.

reply

Awesome! Many thanks for the response.

I have to ask.. is there any chance of a release of that song?

First, a little background:

Mr. McClintock e-mailed me about my article on The 80s Movie Rewind and how much he loved it. He also mentioned that he posted a suit from the film on his MySpace page. It was alright, but it cut off before the song could begin. When I emailed him about this, he sent me the song. I uploaded it to Megaupload, and now it's yours. Enjoy!

Thanks very much for the song download - greatly appreciated.

A little while ago, you posted a message on a fan forum I set up on Runboard, but I accidently deleted the message while trying to delete a bunch of other outdated posts. My apologies for that, and please feel free to visit my board again and repost your greetings.

I just submitted that song under soundtrack for the film. I'm surprised that no one else had bothered to add it. I thought it was a cool rockin' tune.

It's in one of the SNOCAP boxes that says "buy tracks directly from this artist". You need a SNOCAP account to purchase a song.

SNOCAP? Sounds like a Dairy Queen product. Or something Frosty wears to keep cool... :P

omg I can't believe I scored a copy of the Space Mutiny song, hahahahaha!!! Wow, this seriously gave me a solid laugh thanks all

The awesomeness of this is off the charts!

what a coincidence. As soon as I read your post, I thought to myself "why would I hate you for liking a cheesy song from the '80s?" Just today I was watching a bad movie from the 80's called future force. It also had a song in it I liked. the song was called, Here in This Life. Guess who did that song. The same person who did Edge of a dream, none other than Steve McClintock.
