Dark image... hard to see?

I rented this from Netflix. The "transfer(?)" is really really dark. It's hard to make out the scenes nside the bowling alley. Is this the same for everyone else?

thanks

I seem to recall my old VHS copy being pretty dark, especially in those scenes. Been a while since I watched my DVD, so I'll take a look at let you know. The fact that mine - although an Australian release - is American NTSC format suggests it will be exactly the same print as yours (not exactly going to be a lot of 'releases' of this film, I imagine!).

My DVD is printed by Full Moon copyright 2012, and I have the same dark image issues. Since yours is older, I'm assuming it's the one by Cult Video. There are slight differences in the extras, but I imagine the video is the same if not identical? I wonder if the UK release by 88 is any different.

reply

Yes I have the same issue. It's quite dark.

I have the UK 88 edition. Same problem.

It is dark, I think it is to hide the cheap looking demon.

It's that man again!!

I just watched the 88 Films Blu Ray release and I thought the transfer was terrific, considering the age and budget constraints

reply

I just watched the HD print and the scenes inside the alley were all easy to see, so it looks like they fixed the issue between the DVD and blu ray releases.
