This movie is rarer then the holy grail

Its never been this hard for me to find a movie on dvd.

its all over the internet for sale, i got my survival kit years ago at best buy that includes the first 3 films

"Meet my at the waterfront after the social" Angela Baker

reply

I got mine too years ago like in 2004.Got mine on amazon

reply

Amazon? Ebay? :)
I found mine at a small dvd/record store, as well as Part III :)

I recommend you order it from Amazon, It was cheaper for me to order the survivors set even though I already had the first. It's a pretty good set and comes with commentaries(which I love to watch/listen too), and behind the scenes stuff. Mine also came with part four though I haven't watched it yet. The case is pretty cool too. Cost me about $35 bucks on Amazon, after shipping.

I bought this years ago found it at a local Borders long before I started ordering online. I was surprised to see anyone thinking this was rare. I was shocked finding it in a chain store seemed mainstream when I remember it back on vhs as a movie no one really (around me) knew at the time. Was just rented on an whim from the cover. Lol

This movie is rarer then the holy grail.

That's because it and its sequel are crap.

yeah isn't that interesting how these films no one knew about in the '80s now are easy to find on dvd/blu ray. i guess some things about nowadays are better than in the '80s. though i think these films should stay in the underground as far as their visibility/legends.

It's not easy to find.

I bought a copy from a used movie shop a year ago, but after taking it home I noticed the case had so much water damage that the paper sleeve literally disintegrated when I tried to take it out. I'm a little bit OCD so that bothered me. I'd been looking for the "Survival Kit" for some time now so that I could get all three films in a set, and just found one this week at a used shop for $45 (AND it's one of the original boxes with the Red Cross logo)!

If you don't have Part I or III, it's almost worth it to just get the boxed set to be honest, because used prices for both II and III on eBay and Amazon are around $20, and you can usually manage to find a boxed set for twice that.

now that they are on blu ray, are you going to buy the boxed set on dvd or just buy the blu rays? the dvd boxed set has part 4 and the survival kit.

reply

I wouldn't say the movie itself is rare. It's not too hard to track down. Like someone else here, I own the survival guide and I funny enough got it for pretty cheap compared to the current prices for the much sought after "red cross" box set.

I will say anything tied to it like posters are rarer than the holy grail. You'll see one appear on ebay once in a blue moon but bids skyrocket well into the $150 price range and they end pretty fast. Once two posters in pretty much mint condition went up at the same time and bidders went nuts.

I bought the Survival Kit the day it came out in 2002. It's the recalled one with the American Red Cross on it. It's a great set, only kept it for 2 and 3 since I now have part 1 on Blu-Ray. I hope one day Shout Factory will release 2 and 3 on BD.

That would be great, especially since the Shout Factory release for the first one looks swell.

You probably already know this, but parts 2 and 3 are available on Blu-Ray from Shout now.

It's on Amazon Prime.

The whole trilogy is currently on TubiTV, which is a legitimate & free website.

Re: OP, I found the trilogy on DVD for like $1 at a garage sale. This was like 5 years ago. I watched it & didn't think much of it at the time. Sold it online & made a pretty nice profit.
