They don't make them like this anymore. Underrated as hell.

This is arguably one of the best films of its time, for the genre. I don't care what any haters say, I have spun my Sleepaway Camp trilogy in my DVD player more times than I'd like to admit.

There's some sort of campy ( No pun intended ) charm to particularly the second and third films that I can't get enough of. They crack me up, and Angela just kicks ass.

The movie captured the feel of the 80's slasher perfectly. The set was great, the cheap crappy actors were great, and the kills were off the chain. Slashers today should take a look at this, and learn to have a little bit of fun as they did with this film.

Terribly underrated, IMO.

I just saw this one after not seeing it in about 10 years, it's awesome. I don't remember the 1st, and I know that the Return to Sleepaway Camp that was made just a few years ago was terrible. I agree this is one of my favorite horror movies. You don't get good low budget flicks like these anymore. It stands the test of time, it looks good, and it is a very creative film. The acting is not horrible, and I am surprised a few of them didn't become very successful. The guy that played Sean was hot, and Ally was pretty good looking if you like girls I suppose.

Lmao Angela is my boss. She's my age(21) and walks around acting like she's such an authority to the point where she's nuts. She takes queues from this movie.

I agree. This is a great series. I really wish it could somehow make a comeback. Slasher movies take themselves too seriously now. Don't get me wrong, some are great and it's nice to have some serious ones, but I really enjoy revisiting these campy 80's horror flicks. They just don't make them like this anymore. The first is one of the best slashers of all-time, and has one of the best endings ever. Unfortunately, even if they did bring this series back, I can't imagine it having the charm it once did.

is that because it's not the '80s anymore so people's sensibilities are different than the people who made slasher movies in the '80s? but then what about the people who grew up in the '80s watching slasher movies. can't they make slasher movies nowadays just like the ones they watched in the '80s?

I think it's underrated too and much better than the first one which took itself too serious.
Like the soundtrack also.

I remember seeing this is the video shop as a kid here in the uk under the title 'Nightmare Vacation 2' the cover was so appealing to me because it had Angela, Freddy & Jason on it! As a kid that is all you want from your films right there! Anyway i'm a huge fan of cheesy 80's slashers and this is right up there with the best of them! It's alot of fun and never takes itself seriously!

I made my step mom rent the first movie for me when I was 7, loved the series ever since. I bought the box set back in '04 and I have probably watched 2 & 3 at least a billion times each. They play them on the Chiller channel from time to time and I watch even though they are cut up. I'm obsessed. Lol.

I was obsessed with the second one when I was younger. There is something great about teenagers in woods having sex and being killed!

That's what I think about the series as well. It's extremely underrated. I wish they made more movies like this.

I don't know why companies can't makes films like this now. Even some small company. It's completely possible. There's no reason why we can't have stuff like this back.

It would be super awesome to see. I still question if Berserk is going to happen, unless it's sitting on a shelf somwhere waiting to be filmed.

what about porkchop and porkchop 2? nowadays people make pretty good slasher movies that don't take themselves seriously and have a funny campy atmosphere. it's possible to make a good '80s style slasher movie that is funny nowadays like lumberjack man which was amazing. it's like the only slasher movie i've watched in the past 10 years that is as close to as good as the best '80s slasher movie possible.

watch lumberjack man and you'll get a lot of the same or at least similar feelings you get while watching the first 3 sleepaway camp films.

the first 3 movies in the series are some of my favorites in horror.i love cheese over the top 80s films
