Parallels with 'Leon/The Professional'

This superb 1988 Danish movie has some interesting parallels with the 1994 Franco-American movie "Leon/ The Professional", Natalie Portman's first movie.

In both movies a preteen girl hooks up with an adult male who is has a dubious background and are largely isolated from the world around them.

There is an erotic component too in both movies as both girls- Emma and Mathilda- develop crushes on the men who come to take care of them and protect them. However, there is no sexual or any kind of physical relationship between the two.
