Should have stayed buried!!!

This had its premiere on MGMHD last night and decided to give it a try.

The first problem was the music-it was in every scene to make the scenes more dramatic than they were. Annoying!

The acting. Crispin Glover should not have been cast in this role-he was totally unbelieveable. Redgrave was the campiest she has ever been in a movie. Hurt was the only one that was sort of believeable.

I blame alot of this on the screenplay and director. Scenes were so long and lacked any dramatic value to such a wonderful novel. The worst being the dinner table scene.

Good actors, great novel should have been a good novel.

From what I read this has been buried for years-where it should have stayed.

3 out of 10.

Agree Glover was miscast; thought he was campier than Redgrave. Very strange production, almost amateurish. Nice try, no dice. too bad.
