I never noticed her character until the ending where she wakes up in bed next to the dean when Dep starts shortchanging the endin... I mean, starts calling for everyone to wake up.

How is he self hating? Ellen Holly (his wife in the movie) is a black woman, with two black parents. She is no more mixed than any other black american.

She was mixed. She didnt look white but she was pale as hell. And the dean could have been seen as a self hating coon because back in the 80's many successful black men had a light skinned/white skinned arm piece woman. Even MLK with Coretta.

She hardly looks White. In that case Jasmine Guy & Tisha Campbell look White.

Ellen Holly IS NOT white, just a very light-skinned black actress. (The following is from her IMDB profile) On July 25, 1968, Ellen became the first black actress to become a recurring cast member on daytime TV. On ABC's "One Life To Live", she was cast as Carla Benari, a black woman passing for white. Holly was on the soap-opera until 1985.

No. Dean's wife was black. She did not look white to me.
