Terrible (spoilers)

I remember this being bad, but I watched some last night, and it was actually worse than I remembered. This movie cheaply terrible dialogue, 2 dimensional characters, bad acting, and every cliche about musicians you can imagine. Justine Bateman is laughable prancing around the stage with a cowbell. One of the best parts is when she runs away from Liam Neeson on the beach, yelling "YOU'RE LYING!!" And the scene with the near overdose is laugh-out-loud funny -- they beat the girl until she wakes up and then she's fine and off the drugs.

I've seen better film on teeth.

Yeah I watched it the other day on Netflix b/c my mom said it was good......WOW couldn't have been farther from the truth. Justine Bateman seriously embarressed herself with that role. Yes what was up with the cowbell? And the embarressing way she constantly swayed her hips? OMG and the beach scene!!!! I literally laughed out loud, and at the same time I was humiliated for her. Who directed this?!?! Hopefully it was their last. OH and lets not forget at the end when that guy came to see their band about going on tour and how he only wanted her? LAUGHABLE!!

I grew up in the 80's and liked this movie back in the day. It was just on one of the Cinemax channels so I decided to watch it - if only to absorb a younger Liam Neeson for eye candy. In hindsight, it was definitely a horrible movie. Whoever cast Justine probably thought she might skyrocket from Family Ties into the movie world, but that failed both on *beep* acting AND *beep* singing. The writing was atrocious as well.

In an attempt to explain to a younger generation about why this movie is still liked and watched, I have a few words for you:

COCAINE
IT WAS THE 80'S
SOMEONE GAVE THE POWERS THAT BE VERY GOOD HEAD

Just saw this movie again....remember it when it first came out. Wow, Justine Bateman has very little talent as a singer or actress. I'm sorry but it's true. Julia Roberts was equally awful although I like most of her movies. Trini A and the other chick can actually sing quite well, but apart from Mr. Big Stuff you never get to see that. I also watched for the Liam N eye candy but wow is this movie embarrassing for all. To those of you who haven't seen it, Justine avec cowbell is not to be missed. Definitely a better movie with alcohol but I have to admit it was a guilty pleasure when I was younger.
