Just finished watching this movie, my thoughts

I can see that this movie was very well made, and the acting was superb. But the movie felt boring for me. I think the main problem was the lack of some real poignant critical points early in the film made the movie feel like it's dragging. It mostly just felt like the day to day affairs of a child living in the streets, and while that's fine, there really needs to be critical points of interest to keep the viewer's attention and drive the story forward. The movie lacked that.

I'm sure many people will realize the similarities this movie has to Slumdog Millionaire, and I wouldn't be surprised if the makers of Slumdog were influenced by this movie. While I prefer Slumdog, I think Salaam is a more realistic depiction with a sadder ending that might be a more poignant message on poverty in India.
