Great follow up to the first

I enjoyed this movie not as much as the first but it definitely had it's moments, the "big black" at his campfire and the run threw the course with a whip to name a couple.

I did see a few discrepancies like they should've had Kirk Douglas back and Spur only had the right to will 1/2 of the gold mine to everybody because Jim should have claim to his fathers half, but I’m also being very critical since I’ve seen both movies at least 100 times a piece.

I definetly agree with you about Kirk Douglas.
Brian Dennehy just seemes to be a city guy, especially the way he dresses.
Kirk Douglas actually looked like he was a rancher guy.

I liked the sequel also, but it would have been better with Kirk Douglas. I didn't really like Brian Dennehy. He's not a very good actor in my opinion, and doesn't hold a candle to Douglas.

I loved both movies, but when they replaced Kirk with Brian I was a little put off because Brian is quite a bit larger and heavier than Kirk so I was surprised with his agility to ride a horse. He also looked younger in the sequel than Kirk looked in the first one, yet the film was supposed to take three years later.

I was disappointed that Kirk was not in the second movie, but I still enjoyed the movie.

I would have preferred if they had selected someone who was more like Kirk in his appearance and stature. Dennehy looked too big for that role. JMO though.

Besides the casting issues, this is one of the most romantic movies I know of. My wife and I LOVE this movie with the bravado, chivalry and romance it has. Jim and Jessica are a wonderful couple. "I couldn't get any further Eureka Creek"
