Widescreen?
Hello out there - does anyone know if this movie was produced widescreen and is in print anywhere in said letterboxed format? Thanks!
shareI don't know where you live. Here in the US it was only released on DVD two months ago and only in the pan & scan version. I'm not sure why they do this unless it's to get us to buy the movie that we've wanted so long and then later, release it in widescreen so that they sucker us into buying it twice. (Or am I being too cynical?) At any rate, I believe it's not available in widescreen here. I keep hoping for the widescreen version...
The Australian dvd release is a fully restored widescreen version. Try ezy.dvd.com.au. Its selling as a double pack and has some great extras.
shareAs a kid, watching movies at home with black bars at the top and bottom of our TV screen really drove me crazy, and then I noticed that there were things I had noticed on the big screen that were no longer visible in the full frame version. So, now I don't see the point of getting it in full frame if it's available in widescreen.
I want this film in widescreen, and I can't figure out why it isn't out the correct way already!
I don't know who to beg to get it put out the right way.
