Why The Return Of The Two Guys From The First Movie?

I found it distracting.

Ed and Joey were the best part IMO. A nice joke to see them go through it all ocer again. Not to mention James Karen is awesome.

I thought that largely made the movie. Loved the meta-jokes derived from it, like the repeated "you better keep your mouth shut if you like this job" and "I feel like we've been through this before" (paraphrases).

Sad story. You got a smoke?

The truth is that was one of the deals made to get the film produced. If you remind yourself they are not playing the same characters, you can let yourself enjoy it.

They felt they needed them for the purposes of brand recognition for the series. I would argue that their presence helps.

Not only that, but the project originally was supposed to feature most of the original cast. However, when the suits from Warner Bros (under the Lorimar division) got involved with the casting, most of the actors were either was not called for an audition or (like in Don Calfa's case) they simply didn't get the role. Calfa was originally supposed to play the alcoholic doctor in Part II.

I actually kind of like when sequels use actors/actresses from previous movies playing different roles. I can sort of see how some might be confused at first but once you get used to it, it isn't so bad.

They were the best part of the movie.

I think because alot of people liked them

I didn't like it either. They are practically playing the same characters, just with different names. Mathews is the new guy being taught by Karen again. They even get exposed to trioxin and go through the same zombification process and reactions to it. Just felt like a rehash.
