surprised it has such a low rating

one of my favorites... doesn't suck at all to me

I'm not too surprised. This isn't completely terrible (the makeups and production values are both pretty good) but it's still a far cry from the original. I think the biggest issues I had were that the characters were extremely annoying and the gags were too childish. It also concentrated too much on comedy and didn't find that perfect balance between horror and comedy like the first film did. I have seen far worse, but this was a little disappointing for me personally.

Very annoying to me. The plot and acting are pretty bad compared to the first.

It gave me a head ache. The loud, obnoxious over-acting by Thom Mathews and James Karen as well as the little kid totally ruined it for me. It's not entirely their fault though since they never knew Ken Wiederhorn would direct and write a script which mirrors his future film career: a total waste.

Without having seen the last entry (Necropolis?), the second entry is my least favourite of the three I have seen.

I just remember being confused (I was really young) as to why I was seeing Thom and James alive in this universe again, as pretty much the same guys, but not... I felt like I had missed something and then, well... that's all I really remember. I tried to watch it again years later, but hated it. In fact, until just now, I was not aware there was a version of Tar man in RotLDp2.

I thought it was okay, but nowhere near as good as the first film. I hadn't watched it since I was about 9 or 10-years-old and I got a lot more enjoyment out of it back then. The main issue that I had with the film is that Jesse annoyed me. He wouldn't have been so bad if he was a side character with a smaller role, but as the main focus he got very irritating after a while. It isn't terrible but not great like the first one. Just average.

I think the rating is fair (5.8 at the time of writing), but I also think this movie gets way more hate than it should. For sure it doesn't compare to the original. But I enjoyed it well enough and there are certainly much worse zombie movies out there.

The jokes are very hit or miss, admittedly mostly miss. But when they work, it's not so bad. In particular the two goofballs returning from the first film are generally entertaining even though they are clearly hamming it up.

A decent 80s zombie flick, I would recommend it to fans of the subgenre for sure, just not as a high priority viewing.

Also, it has Bobby from Twin Peaks, which is pretty rad.

This movie sucks. I love the first one. This one is nothing like it. Not funny in any way. Just cheesy.

I agree. Its a solid sequel, and way too underrated. Part 1 was better, but 2 is still just as much fun as the first one was.
