Is this from this movie?

I remember watching a certain movie, I think the movie came out in the 80's, but I only remember one scene at the very end of the climax. There's some people in a jet (or more likely a plane). They're Americans in a foreign country. These good guys have accomplished their mission, and on their way to wherever, they see an American aircraft (fighterjet maybe?). Since these people are in an enemy aircraft, they have to let them know that they're Americans, so this kid wearing like a Bruce Springsteen shirt (or some form of Americana) is lifted outside. Then everybody is rescued. Did I get these details right?
