Ive never seen it but love Red Dawn...Do any characters die, is there much action. Or is it just a corny happy Goonies Type movie?

Happy ending. Its an adventure flick. I thought Red Dawn sucked, this is alot better.

it's kinda happy Goonies type, but it has some scary moments when they get to North Korea. I haven't seen it since I was a kid though.

not as bas-ass as Red Dawn but not bad...yes it is kind of similar in some ways. it all seems a bit dated now...which is amazing given that in red dawn we were fighting commies (now practically non-existent) yet here we're fighting north korea who we should be more at war with now then we were then (the whole nuclear bomb thing is a bit of a problem.) ....but its not bad if you can find it....

You can't compare this to Red Dawn. Asking if The Rescue is as good as Red Dawn is like asking if Julia Roberts is as hot as Jessica Biel.

With that said, The Rescue is an entertaining movie - nothing special. But I would recommend you watch it if you are a fan of movies like The Goonies, Monster Squad, etc.
