impressive?
Why was everyone including "Variety" magazine so impressed by the special effects in this movie? I thought this movie had very little gore and each of the transformations were just slightly additional to how she transformed before. She has some kind of hydroencephalitis brain-like growth on the back of her head with some rubbery looking veins. The final transformation scene is laughably fake. I swear it looks like a human skull from a high school biology class with some electrical cables stuck in it and something that looks like orange soda pouring out of its mouth to simulate melting. Ed French, I thought he was a kind of big-budget Hollywood effects type guy, as I've seen his name as makeup artist for tons of movies.
