Does the surreal make sense?
To further confuse you watch Door to Silence. From his other films it bears the closest resemblence to TOD.

Surreal this is! It's not as bad as everyone claims, if you study it a bit. The 'comedic' elements are heavy-handed and very Italian in nature, so they don't bother me... i found some subtle sections [ The criminal who mocks Lester to his face about being a "born loser", Lester's weird conversations with his own recorded voice, etc. ] genuinely funny. Fulci basically turned vice and woman-hating into a joke here, so this movie is yet another wacky, tasteless trip into Fulci's warped mind. Is Touch Of Death necessarily a good thing? No... but Fulci fans may dig it.
As for the production values, it's a cheap T.V. movie, so why do people bitch about its inherent cheapness? On a side note, Zora Kerova is/was a hot lady in a lot of these weird Italian films... i didn't recognize her with the gross lip thing.
