Does the bit that goes something like, "Jewish people always pick up the check, fine. Japanese people never use cameras, fine." IIRC they didn't show the guy saying this (it was coming from off-camera). When I heard it I felt certain that I recognized this routine even though I'd never seen this movie before. I figure I must have heard it in some comedy special from the 80's or something.

Barry Sobel consulted on the movie and helped Tom Hanks prepare...it's his bit.

One of Sobel's funniest bits is he would douse his head with water up on stage and say he was doing his impression of ORDINARY PEOPLE, only, it was ORDINARY JEWISH PEOPLE: "Don't let go of the boat! Don't let go of the boat! It's a rental!!"
