Killer electricity. Gotta love it!

I thought Pulse was one of the better late 80s b horror movies. It had an original concept and was executed rather well mainly because the director knew how to handle it in a stylishly creepy fashion. If menacing objects were moving around on their own trying to chase and kill people, then Pulse would've been ridiculously laughable. But the director took the smart route by making the threat mysterious and hidden and under control (much like the creative F/X), therefore making the situation all the more real. The film doesn't take itself totally serious, which is good, and there are some intentionally funny camp moments like *everything* said by the kid that hangs with David and a scene in the garage where Ellen freaks on a handy man over a broken pipe. Also, this is the only movie I've watched with the most bizarre and fascinating end credit sequence and I'm always compelled to watch it through...the comparison between circuit boards and microchips to roads and buildings and vehicles is just too cool.

So for all the naysayers displeased with Pulse I say stick your finger in a light socket because it doesn't get any better than killer electricity.

I loved this movie, I was a kid when I first watched it and there's nothing scarier than electrical appliances coming to getcha! And yeah it does have a camp kitsch quality to it now I'm older.
