I used to like these films quite a lot when I was younger back in the 80s and 90s.
After watching both again after 15 years I would have to say I like this one much more than maximum overdrive which is a lot more stupid.

I remember growing up on these movies also. Maximum Overdrive is more of
an action/supernatural horror film to me while Pulse creates a stronger sense
of paranoia and fear.
I didn't look at my appliances the same way for a while after I saw this....
I can deal with the premise, but having the characters react in such astonishingly DUMB ways is what makes these films so silly. One just has to be mindful that films like "Pulse" are what eighties B-movies were all about!
