I recall seeing this wee movie just as the video was released here in the UK.

Cannot understand why it's rating is so low. Maybe horror fans missed it thinking it isn't a horror by title and the people that did get the movie out were expecting something else?

Can't fault this film on any level. Superb from start to finish and eerie throughout. You love horror and missed this one then i recommend you get it asap.

Just watched it again on DVD. It's quite good, but the ending was weak. I think the pacing could also have been tightened in one or two areas.
But that's just me.

I think that it's a good film. Over here though, it was released by New World Pictures, same people that released Hellraiser

It seems like so many people were involved with this movie. I read/hear so many interviews and commentaries of people who were in this movie, or worked on it.

Agreed. It's a damn spooky and atmospheric film that takes excellent and inspired advantage of its novel prison setting.
