The ending music is a tear jerker.

The ending credits of this movie seem so sad and unpleasant. It's sure a shame the little girl died so soon I can only think this was a way of the cast to express their emotions and a way to pay homage to Heather. Maybe I'm reading too deep in it but I always get a tear to my eye when I hear it.

Yes it is... In my opinion, there is one song played very briefly in the film that is even more of a tear jerker... When Carol Anne is sitting next to the window at night looking at the other skyscrapers and Bruce sits next to her and says "It's a beautiful sight, isn't it?" The piano and clarinet in this scene is just so emotional. Listen closely.

In general the poltergeist movie end credit songs and theme songs had pretty emotional songs beautifully composed. The other tear jerker was when Tangina said tell Carol Anne I will always love her and her nightmare is over..... foreshadowing her death it seems....... this was near the very ending.
