Fun Flik!
I look back on this movie as a good time. Arliss Howard was a great,
understated pick. They could have easily hammed it up with someone
brassier and more of-the-moment. But since they picked a lead with
decent chops and lasting appeal, this movie can (and should) exist for
years to come on Saturday afternoon cable, alongside other enjoyable
80s/early 90s fliks. And I saw Arliss Howard direct and star in Big Bad
Love the other day, which I can't recommend enough for anyone who's
fond of indie fliks, blues music, or poetry.
