Hiding Out Was Better...
I think this kinda sank because Arliss Howard was so terribly miscast.

I agree. In Hiding Out, Jon Cryer was perfectly cast because he easily transitioned from looking like a 30-year-old stock broker, to looking like a 16-year-old high school kid. In Plain Clothes, Arliss Howard looked so old the whole time and was not convincing at all as a high schooler.... Also, the movie was just kinda boring and not really funny. Hiding Out was a lot more entertaining.
