DVD release

It's a shame that this movie isn't out on DVD. It's a wonderful film.

I'm guessing that the fact that yours is the only thread on this message board, and that I'm the first one replying to it, 10 months later, pretty much tells you why it's not on DVD.

It is a shame. While not the best movie I've ever seen, it is very memorable and definitely worth seeing.

The writers and actors were far ahead of everyone else in creating a film with dialogue and situations so real.

And with this being the third post a full seven months after the previous one, I think we can assume this will never be released on DVD. It's too bad. It's a well-written, honest indie film that seems contemporary 18 years later.

Show it to some friends, and maybe we'll start a landslide, that will eventually lead to a DVD. I doubt it, though.

reply

Will do. If nothing else, it will get the word out about this overlooked film.

Thanks

Thanks!

That's great. I'll contact you with a message.

I still have my VHS - but would love to have this on DVD.

reply

I'm interested as well. My VHS copy is worn out and I'd love to be able to get it on DVD.

Yes. I'm still anxiously waiting for the DVD.

I've since burned my own DVD - so I'm not holding my breath any longer.

reply

Definitely interested, also in the first one Loose Ends.

I just bought a DVD recorder, and have been backing up some of my VHS tapes that aren't on DVD. It looks like I'll be burning this one tonight (since it doesn't look like anything's happening too soon).

Hey what happened to the director on here saying how he was going to release the DVD?

I guess he fooled me, for one. And we're probably not getting a DVD ever.

At some point I will put Loose Ends, my UCLA film and the basis for Patti Rocks, on DVD. The last timed it was screened was at Sundance in 1988 in a double bill with Patti Rocks.

I guess what will motivate me is a demand for it, but so far it's mentioned only occassionaly.

David Burton Morris
Director - Loose Ends

I recently ordered a VHS copy off Amazon, it was used, but in good shape.

I recorded this directly off my satellite TV back in 2005 when it aired on IFC, totally uncut and the quality is crystal clear. The only thing is I missed about 7 minutes of the ending of the movie, which really sucks because it's a great film.
It was due to bad weather, it was still recording but all you can see is a black screen with no sound at the very end. If I can find some way to patch up the missing ending I can make a whole high quality DVD out of this. Back in '05 IFC was commercial free and the logo was transparent, and barley there at all at most times, so it's a damn good print. Looks like DVD quality, I really wish I could've caught the entire thing, but it was mother nature's fault.
